El Hadji Diouf is a unanimously disliked figure in football, and when he's not busy talking shite about players that were in a different stratosphere to him as a player, namely Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard who he again took a pop at this week, he's regaling the public with tales of being being a headcase.
One such tale popped up today and it is truly unbelievable.
During his brief time at Sunderland, Diouf didn't see eye-to-eye with many of the players there (shocker). In fact, he disliked the group of "little wankers" as he calls them very much, but Anton Ferdinand in particular had issues with the striker from Senegal which resulted in Diouf smashing a champagne glass and trying to stab the former West Ham defender.
It sounds absolutely insane, because it is. Let El Hadji talk you through what happened:
We were not fighting, I sorted him out, before we were separated.
I said to him, ‘Let’s go to the gym, I will take you on.’ He did not want to.
I said, ‘You are like your brother… you walk like him, you eat like him – write your own story.’ Inevitably, it was difficult in terms of atmosphere, I spent six shitty months there. We were not a team.
There were little wankers in the group who thought they were the best but they were crap. Anton, he was the number one wanker.
[At the Manchester nightclub] I ignored him; that must have bothered him, so he came over to test me.
I’m a man, I can defend myself. If there is a crazy guy who wants to take me on, I’ll show him that I’m crazier than him.
The first of his friends who came too close to me, he ended up running away.
Since I was drinking champagne, I broke my glass and I attacked them… I came out unscathed, and since then, the club now uses plastic glasses.
What a wonderful thing to brag about.
Diouf now plays for Sabah United in the Malaysian Premier League, when he's not doing his part-time job of talking crap about players who achieved far more than he did.
Simply stunning.
