Kylian Mbappe's decision to stay at PSG has certainly rocked the footballing world.
It was long expected that the Frenchman would be on his way to Real Madrid this summer, with the Spanish club themselves convinced of such a move. They based their entire transfer strategy for the last two years around his recruitment, believing as recently as this week that the deal was all but done.
Instead, he has opted to remain in Paris. It is believed the finances on offer had something to do with that, with Mbappe now becoming by far the highest paid player in world football.
Unsurprisingly, the whole thing has not gone down well in Spain. Not only are Real Madrid as a club fuming, but La Liga have also threatened action against PSG.
Then you have El Chiringuito.
When the news broke of Mbappe's new contract, many people were immediately looking forward to the reaction from the cast of the show. They had based their entire slate for the last 12 months around his potential move to the Santiago Bernabeu, meaning they were unlikely to take this one lying down. They didn't disappoint.
Host Josep Pedrerol opened the program with a personal apology for previously telling the viewers that Mbappe was all but guaranteed to sign for the club, saying he had been taken for a fool.

That wasn't even the strangest part.
Regular contributor José Félix Díaz would then address Mbappe personally, questioning his manhood after having the audacity to turn down the club.

Just ten days ago you were giving your word. They sent you a shirt and you received it for your birthday. You were denying reports that were proven to be true.
Mbappe, you're not a sportsman. You don't keep your word. You're not a man, it's that clear. I can't consider you as one. Why? Because you've misled millions of people, not only Florentino Perez.
Just two weeks ago, or ten days ago, you still said 'yes'. Then, you were so cowardly that you didn't even phone, just sent a message.
You showed what you are. You're a man that doesn't keep his word. You'll be a great player, but never a great man.
