Making a return to Naples for tonight's Champions League clash, the Neapolitan locals were keen to give Edinson Cavani a reception he won't forget in a hurry.
Five years after the Uruguayan striker left the Serie A club for Paris St Germain, Cavani was back at the San Paolo tonight with the French champions.
Not selected in the starting XI by Thomas Tuchel for tonight's game, the Napoli fans were quick to notice when Edinson Cavani made his way onto the pitch for the pre-match warm-up.
Perhaps not the kind of reception one would expect for a player who left Napoli for the riches of Paris St Germain, it is clear they have not forgotten the three astounding seasons he had with their club.
PSG booed as they take to the pitch to warm up until the Napoli fans see Edinson Cavani come out of the tunnel. #UCL

Singing Cavani's name and offering him a huge round of applause, it made for a fairly spectacular sight.
The rapturous applause was not lost on Edinson Cavani himself.

A fantastic success during his spell with the Italian club, Cavani scored over 100 goals in his 138 appearances for Napoli.
Starting from the bench for tonight's vital Champions League tie, one wonders what the reception will be like if he eventually makes it back onto the pitch tonight.
