Eden Hazard Comes Up With A Novel Way Of Protecting Himself On The Field

Chelsea schemer Eden Hazard attracts more fouls than any other player in the Premier League and copped a fair bit of attention from PSG in the Champions League last week and the Belgian international has finally snapped and decided he's going to do something about it.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has reveled that Hazard has asked him to speak to makers of shin pads to see if they can develop a new pad for the front and back of his leg:

“Eden told me to speak with my friends who make the carbon shin pads, I am not joking. He told me to speak with them because I am friends with the guy, to try to make it also for the back [of his calves]. Like a horse, when the horses do the jumping – in front and behind. Because now he gets [kicked] behind.

Mourinho has been bleating for most of the season about defenders propensity for fouling Hazard and even kept a straight face earlier in the season when he suggested that Hazard would be 'kicked out of the England' if he did not get greater protection, he has since signed a new mega five year contract at Chelsea.

Perhaps if Hazard is to progress and join the likes of Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo at the Ballon d'Or top table, he should observe how those two have managed to overcome being subjected to constant fouling.

That or go right ahead and make the horse-type shin pads.
