In December, Harry Arter and his fiancee Rachel lost their daughter Renee at birth.

Despite the tragic events, just days later the midfielder turned in a Man of the Match performance as Bournemouth beat Man Utd 1-0 at Dean Court.

Since then, Arter has been a key part of the Bournemouth side as they have moved from the edge of the relegation zone to being eight points clear of the drop.

Speaking to the Bournemouth Daily Echo, manager Eddie Howe acclaimed the mental strength which Arter has shown following that dreadful day in his and his fiancee's life.

Nothing will ever take that away for Harry and his family. That experience will follow him for the rest of his life and it has been incredibly difficult for him.

Everyone was well aware of the story at the time and everyone else moves on quickly and has to because that’s life.

But for Harry, the pain is always there and I think that’s the difficult thing for someone in his position.

What I will say about him and his family is that they have conducted themselves so well and Harry has been so strong through this.

He has been able to produce some excellent performances and has been very consistent.

Day to day, his attitude and commitment to work have not been affected, although we are still aware that behind the scenes the pain hasn’t left him so full credit to him for everything he has done.
