"I have sympathy for Liverpool fans but I have no sympathy for him or Klopp," Eamon Dunphy said regarding Loris Karius on 2FM's Game On.

Dunphy proceeded to rip to shreds the already bare bones of the German's reputation.

Klopp should never have bought him said Dunphy of the goalkeeper who was one of the Bundesliga's most highly-rated when Liverpool acquired his services two years ago.

He's never looked like a Premier League goalkeeper. He doesn't have the presence for one thing, you have to dominate the goal and the area. He's never looked the part and he doesn't concentrate - what happened to him wouldn't happen to a serious professional player.

I've no sympathy for him - I have sympathy for his colleagues. It was notable that his colleagues didn't come around and offer him consolation.

Dunphy continued: "He's not error prone, he's a poor goalkeeper. If you look at the goals in Rome [Champions League semi-final] for example, the one he pushed out to Dzeko. He shouldn't have pushed it out to Dzeko but he should have just tipped it out for a corner.

"He doesn't concentrate. He's unprofessional. He's an airhead. He shouldn't be playing professional football."

Dunphy believes that if Mo Salah had not been forced to exit the game, Liverpool could have beaten Real Madrid. Though, he still believes we would have seen and error from Karius on Saturday night.

"I said it in The [Irish Daily] Star on Saturday and I said it before the match, nobody will win the Champions League with this guy in goal and with Lovren playing centre-half.

"If Salah had stayed on, they could have won the Champions League but somewhere down the line, this guy would have made a boob. There's no place for that."
