Eamon Dunphy introduced some curious terms on his appearance on 2FM's Game On yesterday evening, when he described James McCarthy as 'wojously overrated'.

In addition to his critique of McCarthy ('no good') and a more familiar volley on Glenn Whelan, Dunphy agreed with the proposition that Robbie Keane is 'past it'.

Yes. And he has been for a while (past it). He's playing in a poor League. I have the height of respect for his goalscoring record and I've always been a big fan of his. He had a half-chance there and he did well with the header but I just don't think his legs will get him around the field and that's the problem. They did had to augment him by bringing in Jon Walters who isn't past it, who is a big aggressive man.

I don't like to say glibly that Robbie is past it but I think he is really. I don't think he can do anything, I don't think he can make the runs. I think he's feeble now.

He added that the problem with punditry was the 'amount of gobshites talking now', highlighting Jamie Carragher's assertion that James McCarthy would be the one player he'd take for Liverpool.

Dunphy also said we'd never have lost in Scotland had Wes Hoolahan started in Scotland.
