So it would seem that the post-match shenanigans have overshadowed what actually happened on the pitch. The kicked off with Noel King v Tony O'Donoghue and then spilled into the studio, with Eamon Dunphy in particular having a go at King.
O'Donoghue's question about Kevin Doyle playing out of position got under the interim Irish manager's skin but, despite getting told off, RTÉ's soccer correspondent was not for backing down, continuously standing up for his line of questioning.
Back in the studio, Dunphy said King was way out of his depth, immature and he called him a bully, while Giles described King's response as 'disappointing.'
The reaction Twitter was instant:
@richardneedle @ballsdotie Ah nice ole manner about him anyway! Poor ole Tony!

@frankgallen @ballsdotie I'm afraid to say I agree with them all there. Really did himself no favours

@ballsdotie @MarkFarrelly131 In fairness they have been very disrespectful to King. Shocking!

Sometimes you love Dunphy but what a clown tonight, the manager does have to deal with the media and he did, they won, a wins a win! — Brian S. (@berniemac18) October 16, 2013
Find myself agreeing with Eamon Dunphy and that scares me. — Timmy Birchall (@tbirchall) October 15, 2013
Up early for a run + half hope last night was the last night country talks about Dunphy after a football game. Embarrassingly bad at his job

Sky got rid of Gray and Keys on a Monday and suddenly started talking football. RTE badly need to make their move. Last night a nadir.

So who was in the right? Was it unfair for RTÉ to question King after his last competitive game in charge where we've won 3-1? Did the panel overreact to his interview? Let us know what you think.
