Dundalk's leading goalscorer Pat Hoban is not accepting the offer of a trial with Kilmarnock, suggesting he shouldn't have to prove himself to a club on their level.
Hoban, who started at Mervue United and spent time at Bristol City, has hit 34 League goals over the past two seasons. He is unimpressed with the nature of the SPL club's advance.
I don't see why I should have to go on trial. I have proved myself in two years in the league.
He would be prepared to go on trial if a Premier League or a Championship club came looking for him. But, League 1, League 2, or indeed the SPL, no thanks.
I would go on trial obviously if it was a Championship or Premier League club. Who would refuse that? But when it is League One, League Two, SPL, no disrespect but I don't see why I should have to go on trial if they had done their homework.
I think we would beat most teams in League One in England and most teams in the SPL as well, so we should be getting a lot more credit than we are at the moment.
Hoban has since defended his stance after some accused him of disrespecting the SPL and the opportunity to go on trial with Kilmarnock.
I think people are taking what I said out of context. Didn't disrespect anyone just my point of veiw right now #ilovetrials ????
