It would be very easy for Dundalk's players to lose focus on the task of keeping the club in the division with all the outside noise that is surrounding the club at the moment.
Dundalk defender Dan Pike is fully focused on the job at hand however and is taking it one game at a time as the club sit at the foot of the Premier Division with 5 games left to play.
We spoke 24 hours after the club were saved from liquidation after local Barrister John Temple completed a takeover from former owner Brian Ainscough. The Lilywhites were on the brink of collapse on Monday with Ainscough having set a 5pm deadline for a call for investment.

Speaking at the EA SPORTS FC 25 x SSE Airtricity League cover launch at the Aviva Stadium last week, Pike was bullish on the clubs chances for the remaining weeks of the season:
Real excitement about the last 6 games. Game by game, focus on the next one.
The Oriel Park club have struggled for form this season having amassed 24 points after playing 30 games. They sit one point behind their nearest neighbours Drogheda United with the rivals due to face off on the final night of the season.
Also commenting on the release of the new EA SPORTS FC game, the Englishman could hardly believe his eyes when the cover with Dundalk on the front was released:
Surreal feeling. I've grown up playing the game, to be on the cover now is surreal.
Dundalk are set to face Bohs at Oriel Park this Friday.
