Despite Alan Pardew's stern views on buying British players from a few years back, he now happily scours the French League looking for fresh talent. The club now has a pretty strong Anglo-French feel to it, which caused Sammy Ameobi to make this joke on twitter.

The comment is obviously a joke but it is particularly apt given Pardews changed views on buying British players. Every day Pardew is looking more and more like Francophile Calvin Candie from "Django Unchained". He is a goatee and a long cigarette away from getting his players to call him Monsieur Pardew. Maybe that's why Ameobi might want French lessons.
