19-year-old Dubliner @RossLFC95 (The LFC95's are an old Dublin family) was confident that Mario Balotelli would not emerge as the hero of last night's Liverpool-Spurs encounter.

So confident was he that Balotelli would not score that he thought it was safe to offer this promise to his followers - which were less numerous than they are this morning.

The tweet clocked up over 10,000 retweets and almost half that in favourites. His followers now touch 13,000. Initially his was bullish about his promise saying that his tasting his own faeces would be more than agreeable than losing to Spurs.

However, when it became apparent that folk online were baying for him to tuck into his own shit, he started equivocating.

Like a politician in the weeks after an election he backtracked vigorously. He later explained in a couple of unpublishable tweets that he would not be sampling his own excrement and that was that.

We reckon he would do it in exchange for a cash reward. We need a telethon. Get those donations in.
