We're big fans of players who go on to have cool jobs after they retire, here at Balls.ie.

We loved learning about Fabien Barthez and his need for speed which has seen him become a highly successful race car driver, or Thomas Gravesen becoming a poker star and moving to Las Vegas, so we were happy to learn that rather than look extremely nervous in the early stages of being a pundit, former Liverpool and France striker Djibril Cisse has a new career planned out.

While he has done the odd bit of DJing for night clubs here and there, it is now time for Cisse to focus on his craft full-time as he announced his retirement to Yahoo Sports in France.

I loved being a footballer, and so far the ball has been my life.

I would have liked to continue playing but I must admit today that football is over.

With the same passion, I will devote myself wholeheartedly to my career as DJ, producer and consultant, as well as developing my clothing brand.

Thank you for all your support. The adventure continues, another life begins. A lion never dies.

So there you have it.

We can't help but feel that he's missed a trick by not calling himself 'DJ Ibril', but we're sure he'll be in demand around Europe. If you want to see him in action, here he is leading into what sounds like the start of 'Show Me Love' by Steve Angello & Laidback Luke.

Also, while we're here, he can dance. Here he is doing a lot of playing with imaginary breasts during an impromptu dance off in the BBC Radio 1 Xtra studio...

DJ Djibril Cisse, coming to an overpriced and overcrowded night out near you soon.

(In all seriousness, best of luck to him, he can't be much worse than David Guetta who we will never forgive for infecting our ears during Euro 2016)
