With the news that Tottenham striker Harry Kane will be out of action until March after damaging ankle ligaments against Manchester United, there have been increased calls by Spurs supporters for the club to invest in the squad in the January transfer window.
As well as the injury to Kane, Mauricio Pochettino has to contend with Heung Min Son's involvement in the Asian Cup, as well as the absence of Lucas Moura to injury, though the Brazilian is expected to be back in action soon.
The Telegraph reports that Pochettino may well dip into the window this month to beef up their attack, citing Divock Origi as a potential target.
Origi has found opportunities limited at Liverpool this season but did score a crucial winner against Everton in December, and was also on the mark in his side's 2-1 loss to Wolves in the FA Cup.
West Brom's Jay Rodriguez has also been mooted as a viable option, Pochettino knows the forward well from his time at Southampton, and the England striker has performed well for the Baggies this term, with 13 goals and two assists for Darren Moore's side.

Manchester United are exploring the idea of sending midfielder Scott McTominay out on loan. The Scot is currently well behind in the pecking order, and BBC Sport write that clubs in England and Scotland are interested in taking the 22-year-old on loan. McTominay has featured seven times this season, though only one of those appearances has come under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Meanwhile Marouane Fellaini continues to be linked with an Old Trafford exit. AC Milan and Porto are reportedly keen on the Belgian, who has been on the periphery since Solskjaer has taken charge at the club.

Celtic have been mooted with an interest in Everton and Ireland internationl James McCarthy. McCarthy is back fit following his double leg break last season and could be loaned out by the club as he seeks to regain full fitness.
the 28-year-old has also been linked with a move to Ralph Hasenhuttl's Southampton, with Steven Davis recently leaving the Saints on loan to Rangers.
Marco Silva has assured the midfielder that he still has a part to play for Everton in the second half of the season, though with Ireland's Euro Qualifiers on the horizon, McCarthy could probably do with a move to kickstart his career.
