Friday night as been an absolute rollercoaster for Chelsea fans.

Having learned that Diego Costa would miss the trip to Leicester City due to a fitness issue, which would have been considered bad news at the time, that then escalated to a bust-up with Antonio Conte, which then turned in to a transfer to China in the January transfer window.

Sources from Sky Sports, The Telegraph, and The Dail Mail had all suggested that Costa's head had been turned by an offer to make him the best-paid player in the world, and that he did not wish to play for Chelsea, and with Roman Abramovic reportedly unwilling to sell, it looked like another Dimitri Payet-style battle was about to play out.

But now the player at the centre of all of this has responded on Instagram, raising more questions as to what the hell is going on.

Come on Chelsea!!!?

Some Chelsea fans are taking this as a sign that he is staying, but wouldn't he have said more in that case?

He's not done anything other than encourage the club he currently plays for, but that could mean anything. There is, of course, the possibility that he's just injured and isn't even considering a move to China.

If he is indeed staying, then we've all been had by some wild reporting, but it seems crazy to think that such confident and detailed information was presented the way it was.

Something doesn't add up here, but we should find out exactly what is going on soon. Mysterious Diego is mysterious.
