So Howard Webb retired yesterday and the whole world made a bunch of Man United jokes about the former referee but did he really favour them?
The folks at whoscored.com have put together a great table on all the matches Webb refereed and how many points per game teams managed on average. Interestingly, United – while ranking second in overall points – are only fourth in points per game. Although Norwich in third have only played nine games under him so that sample size is probably too small to be statistically relevant.
In fact this whole thing is probably statistically irrelevant but sure look it, it's just a bit of fun.
