As you well know, we're big fans of Football Manager here at Balls but while we say yes to computer games we say no to daylight robbery! So imagine our disgust upon finding out that the world's most compelling game has been illegally downloaded in the Vatican of all places.

The Mirror reports that FM chief Miles Jacobson stunned the London Games Conference 2013 when he revealed that some sinner had gotten their hands on an illegal copy of Football Manager 2013 back in May.

Who did it? Well if you ask me, it could go all the way to the top. As we well know, the Argentinians love their football; especially Pope Francis. Firstly there was that time he went on a tirade against cricket and I can't think of any other resident of Vatican City – bar Fr Romeo Sensini perhaps – who has been photographed with as many football tops as the Supreme Pontiff.

Far be it from me to point any fingers here. I've watched Angels and Demons, and I'm fairly confident in the ability of Tom Hanks and co. in tracking down the culprit but it's hard to look past this obvious evidence.

Whoever did it, I can only warn you this; you may think you're a great fella now, winning Champions Leagues and Premier Leagues aplenty with Wycome Wanderers but some day the Lord will make your acquaintance and I hope for your sake, I pray, that you'll have a spare copy of the game for him too.
