As social media channels continue to emerge and prosper, we have more ways for football fans to lose the run of themselves while waiting for news on potential transfer targets.

Transfer silly season is well and truly underway, and from seeing Memphis Depay being linked to Barcelona, and Gonzalo Higuain reportedly turning down £800k a week to play in China, another absurd deal that may actually very well happen has been dominating the headlines for weeks.

Paul Pogba to Manchester United news has died down since the end of Euro 2016 despite many thinking the opposite would happen, and that is because the young Frenchman has been enjoying a holiday in the USA. Do you know who else is vacationing in the USA? Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

We know this because they were spotted having dinner together, and the chef that served them, Bobby Chinn posted pictures with both to his Instagram account where he claimed that Pogba was "mufc bound".

News quickly spread, and some Manchester United fans took it as gospel, while others mocked them for doing so.

So did this chef ask Pogba about his future and then put 'mufc bound' in the caption? No.

Bobby Chinn has, after seeing the vast amounts of tweets and articles surrounding his photo op, has poured cold water on the situation by further explaining his impromptu meeting in another Instagram post. Here is what he said:

Pogba didn't say he was joining any club and I am sorry to speculate, but these two superstars were having dinner with their families together. A dinner that could have not taken place anywhere else without being disturbed by the press.

I did not recognize Pogba initially as he was wearing his cap, but they were both very gracious, humble and accommodating.. At the end of the evening, as they were waiting for their cars, valet drivers took note and the photo opps were taking place with some totally clueless of who they were.. I turned to a beautiful women and asked her as she looked on a little dumbfounded by the fuss 'do you know who he is?' And she turns to me 'of course I do! He's my husband!'

I could not help but laugh. Minutes later Pogba, Ibrahimovic and their families all stood together and with Pogba's wife out of the photo holding her phone looked at me and gave me her phone to take the family portrait.

That's that then, it was pure speculation on the part of our new favourite celebrity chef.

Sadly for Pogba, that was not the end of the transfer questions during his tour of America, as while conducting an interview at the ESPYs he was presented with a Juve, Real, and Man United jersey and asked which one he wants for next season.

In the above, Pogba describes Manchester United as his "first family", but remained ambiguous about his future for the upcoming season by saying:

I don’t know, we’ll see, we’ll see.

The season really needs to kick off as soon as possible.
