West Ham striker Diafra Sakho was this weekend arrested for the second time in as many weeks. The Senegal international has been released in bail after Police in London arrested him on suspicion of making threats to kill and witness intimidation.
Sakho had previously been arrested on suspicion of assault three days before playing a key role in West Ham's win over Arsenal on the first day of the Premier League season. The two arrests are thought to involve the same woman.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police confirmed to the Sun that an arrest had been made.
On Sunday 23 August, officers from Havering arrested a man on suspicion of threats to kill and witness intimidation.
A 25-year-old man was arrested at an address in Emerson Park, Hornchurch. He was taken to an east London police station and bailed pending police enquiries to a date in early October.
West Ham boss Slaven Bilic had, before this latest arrest suggested that Sakho was 'not worried' and would continue to be selected for the Hammers. In line with that, a spokesperson for Sakho has stated the he has 'not been charged with any offence' and 'vigorously denies the allegations'.
