Derry City Player Joshua Daniels Lost Mother And Sister In Buncrana Pier Tragedy

Derry City player Joshua Daniels lost his mother and a sister in the tragedy in Buncrana over the weekend.

His mother Ruth (57) and his sixteen-year-old sister Jodie-Lee died in the accident at Buncrana pier. Ruth's grandsons Mark (12) and Evan (8) and her son-in-law Sean (46) were the other victims in the tragic accident.

Daniels (20) was brought to Derry City by manager Kenny Shiels. He featured in Friday's 2-1 win over Galway United after coming on from the bench.

Recommended

Derry are due to play Wexford Youths this Saturday. The club have yet to confirm whether the match will be postponed as a mark of respect.
