Some truly horrible news has emerged on Sunday night, as Derry City captain Ryan McBride has sadly passed away.
McBride led Derry to a 4-0 win over Drogheda on Saturday, but was found dead earlier this evening in his home. The cause of death is still unknown, and at just 27-years old, this is truly a shock to all.
Local media confirmed the shocking and sad news earlier this evening.

At this point we would like to offer our sincere condolences to anyone associated with Ryan McBride or Derry City at this most upsetting time.
McBride lived in close proximity to the Brandywell and his passing with come as a massive blow to the local community, many of whom gathered to offer their support outside his home on Sunday night.
