Derrick Williams is set to leave Blackburn Rovers and join MLS side LA Galaxy.
The Lancashire Telegraph reports that the 28-year-old is in Los Angeles and is close to signing a deal.
Williams, whose father is American, was last year linked with a move to DC United.
Due to a quad injury, which required surgery, Williams hasn't played since mid-December. He will miss Ireland's upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
The Waterford man, who can play at centre-back and left-back, joined Blackburn from Bristol City in the summer of 2016 and has played 152 times for the club.
The MLS season gets underway on April 17th. La Galaxy last won the title in 2014 when Robbie Keane was at the club.
