With rumours already circulating regarding who will replace Arsene Wenger at Arsenal, Celtic's Brendan Rodgers finds himself among the front-runners.
Having previously managed Swansea City and Liverpool in the Premier League, Rodgers has enjoyed a relatively successful spell with Celtic; albeit satisfying expectations, rather than surpassing them.
The man charged with bringing Rodgers to Celtic in 2016 has publicly stated that he will not stand in Rodgers' way should Arsenal come calling.
The club's largest individual shareholder Dermot Desmond has revealed to Sky Sports that he is "glad" Rodgers is the favourite for the vacant position, and, despite hoping that Rodgers' "love for the club and the set-up here will induce him to stay," he is open to the possibility of losing the Northern Irishman.
Currently looking on target to retain their league title, Scottish cup and League cup this season, Celtic have strengthened their grip on domestic matters during Rodgers' reign.
However, Desmond realises that the allure of Arsenal may be too much:
He's an outstanding person. We wouldn't want him to leave but we won't force him to stay.
I don't think you can put handcuffs on anybody if they want to go to a club as good as Arsenal.
It will be Brendan's decision and his decision only.
There are a number of alternative, highly-celebrated candidates similarly in the running, and, despite announcing Wenger's prospective departure this morning, Arsenal have said they are keen to announce his replacement "as soon as possible."
