There were wild celebrations at Elland Road on Wednesday night but they were not coming from the residents of the stadium. Instead, it was Derby who partied after progressing to the playoff final following a 4-3 aggregate win over Leeds.

Those Derby celebrations were permeated by a particular subject: Spygate and the ridiculing of it.

Earlier this year, Leeds were fined £200,000 after manager Marcelo Bielsa admitted to spying on opponents, including Derby.

During the first leg of the playoff semi-final between the two sides Leeds fans sang about Spygate to the tune of the Oasis song 'Stop Crying Your Heart Out'. It ended with the line 'stop crying Frank Lampard'.

Last night, Derby sang it in the dressing room following the win.

Ireland underage international Jason Knight, who was included in a matchday squad for the first time, was among those celebrating.

Players also referenced Spygate on the pitch after the game, making binocular gestures to the crowd.

And on loan trio, Harry Wilson, Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori all tweeted about it.
