The row between Danish players and their FA (DBU) could result in futsal players lining out instead of Christian Eriksen and Co. in a friendly against Slovakia on Wednesday night.
Denmark is currently without a squad due to a disagreement between the players and the DBU regarding commercial rights.
According to Danish tabloid BT, the DBU is currently considering sending members of country's futsal team to Slovakia.
Another outlet, Ekstra Bladet, adds that there will be at least two players from the country's lower domestic leagues in the squad. One of the players reported to have made himself available is striker Christian Offenberg of Avarta who play in the third tier of Danish football.
More importantly, their opening Nations League game - a match with real implications for European Championships qualification - takes place against Wales on Sunday.
Ireland play Wales in their first game of the new tournament in Cardiff tomorrow evening. Martin O'Neill's side are scheduled to play Denmark in Dublin on October 13th.
The DBU had initially attempted to create a squad from its upper two tiers. However, that venture failed after the players' union asked that their members not agree to the request.
Manager Age Hareide and his assistant Jon Dahl Thomasson Tomasson are not expected to be on the sideline this week.
