Graeme Souness famously pointed out the devilish side of Spurs star Dele Alli just moments before he landed a punch on West Brom's Claudio Yacob last season, but that naughty streak reared it's head again on Thursday night.
With Spurs struggling at Wembley yet again after Harry Kane scored an own goal which undid the good work from Christian Eriksen to put Pochettino's men 1-0 up early on, Alli saw red moments before half time.
And he can have absolutely no complaints as the footage shows just what a poor challenge it was.
The Dele Alli red card was fully justified. A nasty one, and very painful for the recipient.
Although Spurs' priorities do not appear to lie in the Europa League this season, being knocked out by Gent is not acceptable for a club going as well in the Premier League as they have been. The match finished 2-2 on the night, with Gent progressing thanks to a 1-0 lead from the first leg as well as two away goals, and Alli's presence would have been handy as Spurs attempted to mount a comeback.
His manager will not be pleased, and rightly so.
