Spurs beat Brighton 2-1 in the early Stephen's Day Premier League kick-off.
The winner was scored in the 72nd minute by Dele Alli. It was a superb finish by the midfielder which came when Christian Eriksen played the ball over the Brighton defence for Serge Aurier and the fullback touched it down into the path of Alli. He brilliant lifted the ball over Matt Ryan to find the net.

Brighton had taken the lead through a first half header from Adam Webster. The centre-back nodded a Pascal Gross free kick past Paulo Gazzaniga in the 37th minute.
Brighton took that lead into the break but it only lasted another seven minutes after the teams emerged from the dressing rooms. Harry Kane equalised at the second attempt, smashing a right-footed shot to the net after Matt Ryan had saved his initial shot.
