Declan Rice will announce that he is switching his international allegiance to England according to a report by the Daily Star.
It's said that England manager, Gareth Southgate, invited Rice to St. George's Park earlier this month.
While there, Rice was shown statistical data which demonstrated how he would fit into the England set-up. The 19-year-old was also assured that he would become a key member of the England squad.
It's thought that Southgate's enthusiasm and his vision for future were major factor's in convincing Rice to abandon an international career with Ireland.
Sky Sports reported earlier this month that Rice had pledged his future to England. Martin O'Neill said at the time that he would be surprised if that was the case.
Rice has won three caps for Ireland but all of them coming in friendlies means that he can still change his allegiance to England.
