You'd have to presume that Dean Saunders's tactically innovative idea never crossed the mind of Arsene Wenger in the build-up to Wednesday night's defeat in Munich.
On Sky Sports News on Friday morning, Saunders stepped inside the mind of Antonio Conte and imagined what the Chelsea boss would have done had he taken the teamtalk ahead of Arsenal's Champions League last-16 tie.
If Conte took the teamtalk the other night, it would have been a totally different teamtalk to the one Mr. Wenger gave.
I imagine he would have said, 'Look, we're playing Bayern Munich. Back three stay where you are. Two wingbacks, don't go over the halfway line. Two centre midfield players, stay in front of the back three. You four up front, if you want to hold the European Cup at the end of the season, you're going to have to sacrifice your own game tonight. We're playing Bayern Munich, do all the donkey work.'
That's a 5-2-4 formation for anyone, like Saunders, who is a little bit mathematically challenged.
Even if Arsenal had 12 players on the pitch, you would still have doubts about their ability to stop that second half onslaught from Bayern.
