The Jurgen Klopp era is going out with a whimper rather a bang, as Liverpool's disappointing run of form continued with a draw at West Ham on Saturday afternoon.
Wednesday's derby defeat at Goodison Park had left their title aspirations hanging by the faintest of threads - and today's 2-2 draw at the London Stadium effectively ended those hopes.
What has been especially disappointing in recent weeks has been the nature of Liverpool's performances, with a quarter-final exit from the FA Cup to Manchester United kicking off a poor run of form which has seen their season fizzle out after such early promise.
Saturday also brought a souring of the atmosphere at the club, with a touchline spat between Klopp and star man Mo Salah appearing to be ongoing after the full-time whistle.
It would be easy for recency bias to taint the image of the Jurgen Klopp reign at Anfield. However, in a bizarre answer to a question about Klopp in his post-match press conference, West Ham manager David Moyes perfectly summed up the legacy he leaves behind.

David Moyes goes on bizarre Jurgen Klopp ramble after draw for West Ham
Moyes has claimed just one victory over Klopp's Liverpool across his two spells as West Ham manager. Add to that the fact Moyes has previously managed Liverpool's two main rivals Manchester United and Everton, and one could understand the Scot being ready to see the back of Klopp - something he confirmed humorously in his post-match presser on Saturday.

When asked about Klopp's legacy, Moyes answered in a typically eccentric fashion:
I'll be glad he's gone. Fuckin' too big, teeth are too bright.
I hate saying it because I have worked against him in the two other clubs which are probably their biggest rivals...but I think he's been immense for Liverpool, he really has been. I think he's the daddy there.
He's been able to control a big football club which is something that is not easy to do at times. He's controlled it.
I'm glad to see the back of him, I've got to say.
Hurry up and get away; I’ll be pleased to see you move on. To manage a club like Liverpool you have to be very good, and he’s very good at his job.
It's hard to argue with Moyes' assessment of Jurgen Klopp's reign, even if it may not be ending in the fashion most would have expected.
Saturday's result leaves West Ham still in the mix for European football, sitting just four points behind seventh-place Newcastle and only eight behind Manchester United in sixth.
Meanwhile, Liverpool look set for a disappointing third-place finish, though they could finish the season on a high with big results against Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur in the weeks to come.
