Everton manager David Moyes has described his team's excellent form his return to Merseyside as a "dream start."

Everton have picked up 13 points from a possible 18 since the Glasweigan returned for another stint at the club in January.

The Toffees have picked up impressive wins over Tottenham, Leicester and Brighton as well as a famous 2-2 draw against Liverpool on Wednesday night in the last Merseyside derby that will be played at Goodison Park.

Moye's side went away to Crystal Palace last night and edged out the London club 2-1, with Argentinian player Carlos Alcaraz scoring the winner in the 80th minute.

The win moves Everton up to 13th in the Premier League table, 13 points clear of the relegation zone, which had been a serious concern for fans of the club when Moyes took over.

Speaking afterwards to Sky Sports, Moyes gave this reaction:

"I think the players have reacted brilliantly. For me personally it's been a dream start, coming in and winning so many games in this period. To make us look a little more healthy in the Premier League [table] is really pleasing because I certainly was worried that I'd be the one who might take Everton down," he said.

"We still have to get enough points. I don't think 40 will be required this year for any team to stay up. It's been a brilliant, brilliant start. It was a good win for us today, really scrappy. Wednesday [against Liverpool] took so much out of us. It felt difficult to get them right back on it again but they showed great resiliece, stuck at it and won at a difficult place against a team who've been improving over the last few months."

Moyes however did really that he expects more from his players.

"I expected better to be honest. I've told them that. I'm expecting us to improve and get better and do a lot of things much better than I thought we did today. I thought we didn't look at it at all in the first half," he said.

"We missed too many challenges, unlike us, whereas in the second half we did a little bit better with the ball even though we'd lost a goal a little earlier in the half."

With Moyes feeling there's room for improvement, it certainly bodes well for his charges. Next up for Everton is a meeting with Manchester United at Goodison Park next Saturday.
