David Meyler had plenty of distractions as he stepped up to take a penalty against Chelsea in the FA Cup on Friday night. Meyler's Hull were 4-0 down when Cesc Fabregas brought down Harry Wilson in the box four minutes in the second half.
There was a wait as Wilson, on loan at Hull from Liverpool, received medical attention on the pitch. The referee then requested that Meyler replace the ball as he felt it was not on the penalty spot.
While that was all going on, the Corkman could most definitely have done without Willian having a word in his ear.
Speaking to BBC after the game, the Brazilian revealed that he told Meyler he was going to miss to penalty. Meyler did miss the penalty - it was a good height for the keeper according to Glenn Hoddle on commentary for BT Sport.
I said to him, 'You are going to miss'. He said, 'No, no you're crazy'. I say, 'Yeah, yeah'. I say to him, 'Don't kick it in the middle'.
Willian also found time to rub it in after Caballero's save. "Then when he miss, he come and I say, 'I told you'."
