Republic of Ireland striker David McGoldrick was once again on the scoresheet for Sheffield United last night as they lost 2-1 in their Championship clash with West Brom.
It was the 31-year-old's sixth goal of the season, coming thanks to a well-timed run, just managing to stay onside before a cool right-footed finish past Sam Johnstone.

McGoldrick lined out alongside John Egan and Enda Stevens. Goals from Gareth Barry and Kieran Gibbs handed the three points to Darren Moore's side. The result leaves the Blades fourth in the table, two points behind West Brom and six off the top.

McGoldrick made his debut for the Republic of Ireland in 2014 yet has not featured in recent squads. However, Mick McCarthy's ambition for a 4-5-1 formation and Ireland's current striker woes may play in his favour for the Euro 2020 qualifying campaign.
