David Gold has blamed jet-lag for accidentally favouriting a tweet which indicated that he wanted to see Sam Allardyce sacked.
After travelling with the club on their pre-season tour New Zealand, Gold favourited a tweet sent to him by a supporter which read;
Is today the day we get rid of BFS?? david gold. fingers crossed.
As the papers have coyly indicated 'BFS' is a derogatory nickname that a section of the West Ham fans employ to refer to Allardyce. There's no need to go into the ins and outs of what the acronym but suffice to say it refers to Allardyce's girth.
