Manchester United are having a great day in the transfer market on this Wimbledon Ladies final day. First, news comes through that Bastian Schweinsteiger is on his way to Old Trafford subject to a medical leaving United fans overjoyed that the Red Devils are finally signing a quality player in a position of need.
Meanwhile, the long-running saga hanging over Old Trafford involving one David de Gea and Real Madrid looks set to cool down as the Spanish giants looks set to sign Kiko Castilla from Espanyol.
According to Goal.com, should this transfer go through, it's highly unlikely that Real Madrid will look to continue their interest in De Gea, who is out of contract next summer. With Iker Casillas apparently on his way out of the door at the Bernabeu, and Keylor Navas apparently going nowhere, Benitez will end Los Blancos pursuit of De Gea.
Kiko Castilla is a former Real Madrid academy graduate, and they still own 50% of the 28-year-old's rights, meaning that he will be a significantly cheaper option compared to De Gea.
Real Madrid could still pursue De Gea, but they would need to sell Navas first, as Manchester United look more and more likely to hold on to the Spaniard.
