For the 11th time this season, Manchester United conceded first once again. A rare David De Gea error gave Arsenal the lead at Old Trafford thanks to a Shkodran Mustafi header.
Jose Mourinho opted for a much-changed starting team for the midweek Premier League fixture, handing Marcus Rojo his first start of the season while Matteo Darmian and Scott McTominay were also included. However, after some decent early play, United went behind when De Gea failed to deal with a relatively straightforward header.
Look away David de Gea...?
It was a howler from the Manchester United 'keeper to give Arsenal the lead!

David de Gea has kept just two clean sheets in 15 Premier League games so far this season.

De Gea simply has to do better there. Too over-confident and underestimated the power on the header. Either tip that over the bar or catch it. There’s no in between.

#afc fans even louder now. Torreira corner, Mustafi header down, De Gea pushes the ball up and backwards, Herrera clears but ball over the line. Poor keeping. De Gea looks skywards in frustration.

In an interview with BT Sport broadcast prior to the game, De Gea had offered his support to Mourinho and called on the players to do more.
There might be a lot of criticism of the coach, but the ones that go out on the pitch are the players, the ones that score the goals are the players and we all have to think about what we can do to improve. It’s been a bad season so far for us to be honest. We’re in a poor league position.
Thankfully for the Spaniard, Man United did manage to equalise thanks to an Anthony Martial finish after some similarly poor defending.
