There is plenty of confusion over the details of a story implicating David De Gea and Atletico Bilbao winger Iker Muniain in a rape case.
The story is seeping out after being published on the El Diario newspaper.
As ever, it is very important to stress that these are allegations at this stage.
It is a convoluted story but here is what has been reported by the Spanish press thus far.
The incident relates to an ongoing investigation into a porn magnate called Ignacio Allende Fernández who was arrested two months ago on charges of distributing child porn, human trafficking and sexually abusing minors.
The Spanish media have dubbed it the 'Torbe' case, the name Fernandez goes by on the internet. He is regularly referred to as 'Spain's porn king' in the native press.
He trafficked underage girls, setting up meetings with high profile clients in hotel rooms. He regularly filmed 'brutally explicit' rape scenes. He has since been jailed.
A protected witness in the investigation is now claiming she was taken to a hotel room where she was abused by two footballers.
She was forced to participate in what the Daily Mirror has termed 'an abusive, non-consensual sex party' by 'Torbe' and was told she would make serious money.
She says that Muniain and an unnamed footballer sexually assaulted her.
According to the article, De Gea is not the player who sexually assaulted her. His role was in setting up the encounter.
It occurred while De Gea and Muniain were both members of Spain's U21 team.
Since the encounter, De Gea and Torbe remained in touch for the purposes of keeping the women quiet.
In the Daily Mirror, Spanish football correspondent Ed Malyon revealed the contents of the police report on the incident.
The new girl and TP3 were sexually abused by the men, since if they had said no they were physically abused by both, and once finishing with the sexual desires of both footballers, they made threats that nothing that had occurred in the hotel room should ever come to light.
The witness claims that De Gea tried to arrange another encounter between the woman with five Manchester United players. The evidence includes whatsapp conversations between De Gea, Muniain and the women involved. De Gea asked if she would be with 5 Man United players.
The report also mentions De Gea in another Torbe related incident. An underage girl claims that she was raped by Torbe. This was supposedly recorded and sent to De Gea and other Atletico Bilbao players.
However, De Gea is mentioned in another Torbe related incident where a minor claims that she was raped by Torbe and...

De Gea's representatives are making no statement and Muniain's reps have said they have no knowledge of the allegations.

There are rumours that De Gea has been sent home. The Sun, the Daily Express and the London Independent have reported them - possibly acting on information first disseminated by Mr. Simon Rowntree.
It is not true that De Gea has been sent home.
Guillem Ballague has tweeted that he is still in the hotel and reminded people that the player is innocent until proven guilty.
De Gea has not been sent home. He is in the hotel with the national team. There is a court case on the way. Innocent till proven guilty

According to Ed Malyon, De Gea is currently conferring with his lawyers.
De Gea is now talking to his lawyers, and won't be speaking at today's press conference. Spain expected to have one anyway.
