Retired English footballer coming over to play gaelic football and all for a TV show. It could have been disastrous, but it seems David Bentley is genuinely giving it a go during his stint with Crossmaglen and he's been welcomed with opened arms by the Armagh club.

The former Arsenal, Blackburn and Spurs player notched three points in total on his Crossmaglen Rangers debut against Silverbridge on Wednesday evening. By all accounts (one account) he acquitted himself well despite his very recent introduction to the game.

However, if you're missing a goal opportunity from 2 yards out, the people of Crossmaglen are going to let you know.

"I want to know how you can score from 35 yards for Arsenal but miss from 2 yards [here tonight?]"

If we're being picky, Bentley only scored one goal for Arsenal and it wasn't from 35 yards, but we'll assume he meant this cracker against Arsenal for Spurs.
