After a 1-1 draw with Preston on Saturday, Ipswich sit just outside the playoff places.
Mick McCarthy's side went down 1-1 to a Daniel Johnson goal but hit back half an hour later through Daryl Murphy.
The Waterford man scored his eight of the season with a low, long-range shot which fizzed past Sam Johnstone in the Preston goal.
Following a goal drought which saw him go the first 13 league games without scoring, Murphy has hit form of late. The 32-year-old has scored eight in his last 12 games.
33 - Benik Afobe has scored 33 league goals since the start of 2014-15, only Sergio Agüero (36) and Daryl Murphy (35) have more. Sealed.
