Daryl Horgan's instant impact at Preston North End continues.
Having scored his first goal for the club last weekend he was content to play the role of creator against Birmingham City tonight. Horgan started the game, and along with Aiden McGeady, terrorised the Birmingham defence over the ninety minutes.
Preston took an early lead through a Callum Robinson goal set up by Aiden McGeady, only for Birmingham to equalise just two minutes into the second-half.
It remained level for more than half an hour, until Horgan intervened. Picking the ball on the edge of the area, Horgan accelerated into the penalty area. He then looked up, and we're not entirely sure whether he summoned a shot or a cross. Either way, the ball was diverted into the net by Jordan Hugill.

It's fair to say that Preston fans have been impressed with the Irishman since his arrival from Dundalk:

He was eclipsed, however, by his international teammate Aiden McGeady. McGeady set up the first goal for Callum Robinson - his fourth assist in his last six games, to go along with a brace of goals - and was generally mesmeric.
Aiden McGeady is taking the piss here. #pnefc

Aiden McGeady just brought the roof off Deepdale with some fantastic skill to beat a couple of players.

Fair play, lads. Preston are now up to tenth, four points outside of the playoffs.
