Sheffield Wednesday rose from the dead to win their League One playoff semi-final against Peterborough.
Wednesday had trailed 4-0 from last week's first leg but won 4-0 on Thursday night to take the tie to extra-time. After the game finished 5-1 on the night, and 5-5 on aggregate, Wednesday won 5-3 in a penalty shootout. They will play either Barnsley or Bolton Wanderers in the final.
"I'm absolutely just so proud of every single on of you. We had a bit of adversity in the first game and we knew we didn't perform," Sheffield Wednesday manager Darren Moore told his players in the dressing room after the game.
"It just goes to show you what preparation does. We've prepared all week, the mindset, mentality and in training. I'm going to say this: The belief has been there from day dot.
"I can't commend you all enough in terms of what you've produced out there. It's absolutely incredible. You really deserve it. We're absolutely delighted with what we've had to come through this season.
"Listen, boys, we've got one more. We've got one more. Enjoy tonight but we've got one more [game]. I'm so proud."
Darren Moore's dressing room speech
After last Friday's defeat, Moore's head did not drop. He stayed up until 7am on Saturday morning rewatching the match. By 11am, he had his players at the training ground showing them that they had the ability to turn the tie around.
Following Moore's words in the dressing room, Sheffield Wednesday captain Barry Bannan had some for his manager.
"This last week, what you've done to change our mindset - you, the staff, Tom Bates - it's been unbelievable," said Bannan.
"I'm not going to lie, there were some people down but what you've shown us, and what you've done for us this week has been second to none, and we'd like to thank you and the staff."
