Darren Fletcher made his punditry debut on Monday Night Football on Monday evening and the Stoke midfielder really impressed viewers with articulate analysis of the differences between attacking and defensive systems, his opinion of Paul Pogba's best position at Man United and his thoughts about personnel for United's upcoming Manchester derby.
"That could be a big part of @ManUtd going forward." ?
Darren Fletcher looks at Paul Pogba's best position for Jose Mourinho's side...??

The former Scotland international was calm and measured in his analysis, and hopefully this will be the first of many appearances on the pundit's chair, a view shared by the majority of viewers online:
Darren Fletcher’s very good on Monday Night Football, eg insight on Paul Pogba in his first spell at Man Utd (he was better up the pitch). Calm, thoughtful analysis. Can tell @Carra23 is impressed.

Darren Fletcher very good there on #MNF on why it is more tiring to play Pulis/Dyche style than Biesla etc. Said it takes so much energy to defend that deep and then get forward. Same principle is true for GAA.

Have never spoken a positive word about Darren Fletcher as a player but as a pundit, he seems decent. Willing to talk openly about current players and life at Manchester United. Whether that’ll be coached out of him by Sky is another story.

Big post-playing career media gig beckons for Darren Fletcher. Very cool, calm and assured on #MNF. Frightening that I remember being at his debut for Man Utd reserves when he was 15! (v Man City, and he scored).

Loved Darren Fletcher as a player. No frills but honest as they come and improved every week! Speaks well too it seems.

With the former United midfielder in the autumn of his career, hopefully Fletcher will get bitten by the media bug.
It was refreshing to see a pair of pundits other than Carragher and Neville bounce off each other, and with the Stoke midfielder still playing at a competitive level, there is surely more that he can offer to viewers as an analyst going forward.
