Dara O'Shea grabbed his second goal of the season as West Brom stepped up to the top of the Championship on Wednesday.

The Ireland U21 international scored his side's second goal in a 2-0 win over Derby. The result puts West Brom two points ahead of Leeds who have a game in hand. The defeat dented Derby's playoff hopes.

O'Shea's goal - a gift from Derby in terms of marking and goalkeeping - came via a near post header from Matheus Pereira's corner.

As he has done for much of the season, the Dubliner, usually a centre-back, filled in at right-back for West Brom.

Following the weekend's victory over Hull, West Brom manager Slaven Bilic called O'Shea the "present and future" of the club. There will surely be a spot for him in Stephen Kenny's Ireland squad come this autumn.
