Danny Rose Gives Explosively Blunt Interview About Spurs Situation

Gary Neville was one of those left wondering what Danny Rose was thinking while giving an interview to the Sun this week. The Spurs left-back certainly appeared to make himself appear unhappy at the club.

In an interview which nearly amounts to a transfer request, he called for his side to make some major signings before the transfer window shuts in three weeks.

Rose wants to see the club bring in big name players like Harry Redknapp did when he acquired Rafael van der Vaart. That was a signing which made Rose ask, 'How did he do that?'

The 27-year-old does not want his side making purchases he has to look up on the internet. You'd have to wonder if he'd heard of Dele Alli when Spurs signed him two years ago.

I am not saying buy ten players, I’d love to see two or three — and not players you have to Google and say, ‘Who’s that?’ I mean well-known players.

Rose also said that he wants to move back to the north of England before his career ends, mainly because he misses his mother. The England international, who is from south Yorkshire, has recently been linked with a move to Man Utd.

I am reaching my peak and have probably only got one big contract left in me.

Time is running out and I do want to win trophies. I don't want to play football for 15 years and not have one trophy or one medal.

I will say this too, I will play up north. I don't know exactly when but I will get back up north and play some football somewhere. I have been away for over 10 years now and I don't get to see my mum that often.

I'm not saying I want out, but if something came to me that was concrete, I'd have no qualms about voicing my opinions to anyone at the club.

Rose has been out of action since late January due to a knee injury. He added that if he again reaches the level of performance hit last season, 'I will make sure I get what I am worth'.

I don’t know how much longer I might have at this level. I’m not going to be stupid enough not to try and get the most out of it — medals, trophies and salary.

Anyone who thinks this is primarily for money, that is not the case. But I know what I am worth.

Though his former club is one of those who may benefit from Rose's comments, Gary Neville was still left baffled.
