We all remember Brazil against England in the 2002 World Cup, mainly because of this Ronaldinho goal.

Most people seem to forget that Ronaldinho was later sent off for a 50/50 challenge on Danny Mills seven minutes after that goal.

Speaking to League of Legends radio, Mills reflected on the incident and detailed an interesting bit of advice from Paul Scholes. The Man United legend was playing in his second World Cup. Scholes showed a bit of 'experience' in the situation to help Mills.

He (Ronaldinho) came in, it was a late challenge, he caught me. I went down and I was about to get up and Scholesy came over and tapped me and said 'stay down, ref has got a card out, stay down'

He pulled a red card out, it was never a red card, he caught me slightly, it was a booking at worst.

What did I do wrong? It was a foul, I was on the floor, all he said was to stay down. I didn't roll around squirming and squealing, I just stayed dead still.

Brazil would, of course, go on to beat Turkey in the next round minus Ronaldinho. He was back for the final when they beat Germany to lift their fifth World Cup. If a non-English player had reacted how Mills reacted, albeit on Scholes' advice, there'd be uproar. Anyone who remembers the Rivaldo dive will remember the outrage at that.
