FIFA ratings are a sensitive subject for professional footballers.
If it wasn't clear by David Meyler having his day ruined when Soccer AM told him he had been downgraded to 69 overall this season, then Daniel Sturridge's outrage at having his speed in the game greatly reduced will end all doubt.
Daniel Sturridge had 89 pace on FIFA 17 which made him a dangerous striker that a lot of people used in Ultimate Team, but as he failed to make an impact on the pitch in real life, he has been downgraded to a 76 this year.
This was news to Sturridge as he found out in the middle of a teammates quiz with Raheem Sterling while on England duty recently, and he was genuinely pissed off with as he claimed that whoever made the decision should be fired.
I'm one of the fastest strikers in the Premier League..
For them to put a 76 down there, is a disrespect to my credibility, it's a disrespect to my integrity, to my name.
Raheem Sterling had his back, but one of the fastest strikers in the Premier League? Daniel, come on now.
It is a dramatic drop from the 90 range to 76, and the reasoning - which is presumably down to Sturridge's injury troubles - has less credibility when Danny Ings has 82 pace.
If he wants it fixed for FIFA 19, he's going to have to play a bit more. You can watch Sturridge's teammates interview with Raheem Sterling in full below.
