Daniel Sturridge is apparently living in LA after being released from Liverpool at the end of last season.
In his new life in California, Sturridge has a house in West Hollywood where last night him and some friends went to a restaurant for a couple of hours, only to return the scene of a break-in. The items missing included some bags from upstairs and, most disturbingly, the striker's dog.
Sturridge immediately took to Instagram to appeal for the return of the dog.
It's a pretty horrific thing to happen. While obviously and rightly emotional about what has happened, we're not sure that Sturridge's methods here are the most well thought out. Putting his address on Instagram is certainly a bad idea, and agreeing to any ransom in order to get his dog back would also make any police negotiators cringe.
In the heat of the moment and through the shock of a break in, it's understandable behaviour. Let's hope his dog is returned unharmed or possibly even fleed the house in fear at the break in.
