Former Liverpool defender Daniel Agger hindered his national side's effort against Portugal last night, momentarily at least.
Agger was so desperate to get the ball out of the penalty and away from the pressing Portuguese attackers that he didn't think of the consequences. The great Dane put so much venom behind his bog standard clearance that when it connected with his teammate Nicolai Boilesen, it rendered the Ajax man unconscious.

To make matters worse for poor Boilesen, the only thing he had to look forward to when he woke up was seeing his country lose the match courtesy of an 11th hour goal from Cristiano Ronaldo.
Here's hoping the 22-year-old is alright after the incident. He got hit with an almighty whack.
