Manchester City fans are on red alert after Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain may have spilled the beans regarding Dani Alves leaving the club.

The Brazilian recently admitted that he would love to play in the Premier League, and reports have claimed that he has been in discussion with his former boss Pep Guardiola about a move to Manchester for some time now.

It certainly seems as though Alves will be leaving Juventus despite an extremely successful season after arriving on a free transfer, as Gonzalo Higuain uploaded an emotional goodbye that was swiftly taken down on social media this morning.

As always, someone was in like lightning and managed to screenshot/record the message, which has since been re-uploaded to YouTube.

Dani, brother. What can say? I send you a big greeting, you know the affection I have for you. It was a pleasure and a great happiness to have been able to share this year with you, to have won titles. I wish you all the best in your life and in everything you do. I hope we play more time together because it truly has been a pleasure. Ciao genius, do not ever change and continue with that joy that you transmit as it ismost beautiful and what counts in this life; laugh and be happy.

Big hugs.

Clearly he was told something, and by taking it down he has made it clear that he was also told to take the bloody video down.

Man City's need for more than one fullback is clear, especially having allowed Pablo Zabaleta to leave the club, and the pursuit of AS Monaco's exciting left-back Benjamin Mendy is ongoing, but were they to land the Frenchman as well as Dani Alves for the other flank, then City would be a scary prospect heading into Guardiola's second season in charge.

While City are front-runners to land the Brazilian, there is always the possibility of a Chinese side coming in with a huge offer to convince him to leave Europe, although any team would surely welcome a player of Alves' proven quality. We're expecting concrete news in the coming days.
