The Damien Duff League of Ireland transfer saga appears close to an end.

Shamrock Rovers is reportedly his club of choice.

It was also reported this week that the former Ireland international would be on €2,500 a week at the Tallaght Stadium.

According to David Sneyd in the Irish Daily Mail, that remuneration will not be entering Duff's bank account but instead will be given to a charity of the winger's choice. It is not known which specific charity will benefit.

A little further evidence of Duff's imminent move to Rovers below. The Irish Times' Emmet Malone tweeted photos of reserved Tallaght Stadium seats for the 'Duff family' at this evening's Europa League qualifier against FC Progres Niedercorn of Luxembourg.
